Call for Abstracts Released
SUBMISSION TYPES
Proposals for dedicated sessions are strongly encouraged.
- Dedicated Session- We encourage scientists, managers, and restoration practitioners to propose full thematic sessions dedicated to a particular topic or issue(s). Session leads should propose four to five presenters for each 90-minute session. Dedicated sessions will ideally include a diversity of viewpoints, organizations, and stakeholders. Session leads may propose themselves as one of the presenters in the session, although this is not a requirement. All presenters identified in the proposal for a dedicated session must also submit their own abstracts for inclusion in the session.
- Alternative Format Session- In recognition of the vast array of experiences of our Symposium participants, the Program Committee supports the development of dynamic, creative, and interactive 60 to 90-minute events in which the topics or presentation(s) lend themselves better to non-traditional formats. Potential examples include lightning rounds with eight to ten presenters; debate, poetry slam, or rap battle style interactions; living room conversations; crowdsource solutions, in which presenters describe problems and seek suggestions from audience members; artistic or cultural demonstrations; visual art projects (which could be displayed throughout the conference and not bound by a time limit), or other alternative formats. All presenters wishing to participate in an alternative session must also submit their own abstracts for inclusion in the session.
- Single Presentation- A 15-minute presentation within the Symposium Tracks is invited. Selected presentations will be organized into cohesive concurrent sessions and session moderators will be assigned. Authors may propose more than one presentation but must submit each abstract separately.
- Poster- Posters will be displayed throughout the Symposium, with dedicated time for presenters to interact directly with participants during the first evening of the event. To the degree possible, posters will be displayed by Symposium Track. Please note that only one poster abstract per presenter will be accepted, but authors may submit abstracts for both oral and poster presentations.
- Student Presentations- All student presentations will be considered for the Mike deGruy Student Awards. Awards will be given to first place ($300), second place ($200), and third place ($100) student presenters for both oral and poster presentations.
