Upper Mobile Bay Wetland Creation

Wetland Creation

Planning is underway for the Upper Mobile Bay Beneficial Use Wetland Creation Site Project. This project provides a plan for creating 1,200 acres of wetlands through the beneficial use of dredged sediments.

To help keep you engaged and informed, the Alabama State Port Authority is hosting a virtual public meeting Tuesday, August 31, beginning at 4 p.m., CST. Local coastal engineers and scientists working on the project will provide a 20-minute presentation that will include the project's history, key benefits and expectations, a proposed project timeline, and work completed to date. Most importantly, a question-and-answer period will follow so we can hear your thoughts and answer questions about this planning effort.

You may access the WebEx meeting here using a computer or a smart phone. Or dial-in at 415-655-0001; 1805122731#

If you are unable to attend the virtual meeting, no worries! The meeting will be recorded and posted on our website www.UpperMoBayWetlands.com. There you will find other helpful information such as the date and time of future public meetings, fact sheets, and progress updates.

Keeping you informed and hearing from you about this wetland planning effort is very important to us. Throughout the life of the project, the Port Authority will send emails and post information online. Let us know what you think! Our project email address is UpperMoBayWetlands@asdd.com.

We hope you will remain engaged as we work to create wetlands and habitat in Upper Mobile Bay.
