Wolf Bay
A Watershed Management Plan is an essential first step in preserving water quality in a relatively pristine, tidally-influenced watershed and mitigating the impacts of future development pressures. The watershed planning process utilizes a stakeholder-led process to characterize existing conditions, identify and prioritize problems, define management objectives, and develop and implement protection or remediation strategies as necessary. In 2018, the Mobile Bay National Estuary Program contracted with Volkert, Inc. and Allen Engineering and Science to develop a comprehensive Watershed Management Plan (WMP) for the Wolf Bay Watershed.
This WMP is meant to serve as a guide to resource managers, policy makers, stakeholder organizations, and citizens of the Watershed so they can make informed decisions about potential actions that have a direct effect on the hydrological and biological integrity of the Watershed. This plan was completed in 2020 and is available to view or download by clicking the links below under Final Plan.
